The Siem Reap Hotels - Angkor Hotels .org - is designed to serve the needs of the independent traveler looking for a clear, un-bias selection of hotels and guesthouses in the Angkor Siem Reap region of Cambodia.
The Siem Reap Angkor Hotel and Guesthouse Association was formed in early 2002 by a number of Siem Reap hotels and guesthouses concerned about the sustainable development of tourism and the accommodation industry in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Key activities of the Association include training, advocacy, marketing and knowledge creation. Our Vision is to create an industry in Siem Reap - Angkor known around the world for its quality service and facilities and a commitment to building a truly sustainable tourist industry for all Siem Reap hotels and guesthouses.
The Association comprises an Executive Committee which is elected by the members for a two year term and functions as a board of directors overseeing the activities of the Association. The management of the Association is under a General Manager who is appointed by the Executive Committee. The Association has an office in Siem Reap (see Contact Us) and will also operate a booth at the Siem Reap Airport to assist tourists with hotel, guesthouse and transportation needs. |
The work to create the Association and guide its development has been made possible by the The Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF) and is being done in close cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism.
The MPDF is committed to supporting the development and growth of private, domestically-owned, small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao PDR. We offer a variety of services directly to SMEs as well as to the individuals and institutions that serve them, and seek to improve the business environment in which they operate.
To fulfill our mandate, MPDF pursues a three-pronged approach to private sector development:
· Provide direct assistance to SMEs to raise finance and improve their operations through our Company Advisory Assistance (CAA) program;
· Build capacity for individuals, enterprises and institutions that serve SME's needs through the CAA and Business Development Programs (BDP);
· Promote a business environment that is conducive to SME growth through the Business Enabling Environment (BEE) program
MPDF was founded in 1997, and is funded by ten donors, including ADB, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, IFC, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. We are managed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group (WBG).
